Looking for a Great Gray Owl

A blog without photos. A Great Gray Owl was reported in the vicinity of Hanover New Hampshire, so early Tuesday morning we left home to travel up to Hanover to see if we could find and photograph the owl. We arrived at the parking lot for the trailhead on Truscott Road for the Appalachian Trail and started down the trail. The ground was mostly clear of snow but there was areas that had snow and ice on them. In fact in one spot even with be in very. I slipped on the ice and landed on my bum, no damage to anything. We made it down into the marsh area and kept looking but no owls. Returning to the trailhead we spoke with a number of people letter been looking for the owl and no one had seen it. Not surprising since it is a very large area with with most of it being forested. Oh well try again some other day. In following the birding news it was not seen for about two days and then was seen yesterday.
