I have not posted any pictures recently since I been consolidating my external hard drives. The price of hard drives have dropped and you can buy a Western Digital 6 TB hard drive for under $200 from Amazon http://amzn.to/1omuNIa, Newegg, B&H, and Adorama. I have consolidated seven hard drives down to four. I also have an external SSD drive, which contains my Lightroom catalog.
About the only problem I encountered was that it was time-consuming because of the size of the contents of my photographs in each of the hard drive. To keep my Lightroom catalog from losing the location of my photographs. I did the move from within Lightroom. As I just stated other than time-consuming. I had no other problems and all my pictures are discoverable from within Lightroom.
The reason I chose Western Digital Hard Drives is I have had no problems with them, "knock on wood", and some of my hard drives I bought in 2008 and were still running perfectly. I did not choose Seagate for two reasons: 1, I had a brand-new one fail in less than a month and would have lost a large number of photographs, except that they were backed up on the cloud, utilizing BackBlaze; 2, There is a class-action suit against Seagate because of the number of HD failures BackBlaze is reasonable at $50 per year/computer and all hard drives that are attached to that computer. You can try a one month free utilizing https://secure.backblaze.com/r/010sos.
Well, my next project will be to consolidate all the wires that I have coming from my computer. Slowly and surely I will have my workspace straightened out.
