The deer at Sachuest National Wildlife Refuge are present all over the refuge. When we drove into the parking lot, the mowed grassy area right in front of us was loaded with those and their family and one beautiful 8 point buck. I photograph them first from the car, first utilizing a Puffin Pad, then I set up my tripod, so I can move around and change the angles that I was photographing at. We were there just after sunrise and the deer that were out in the sun were illuminated by the beautiful golden light. Looking over the entire area with the binoculars. There were deer scattered all over. I counted a total of at least 24 deer present, and probably missed some. So if you want to see white-tailed deer visit Sachuest in the early morning.
