Funny Activity of a Herring Gull

Herring Gull on the Cobbles

During our bird walk, we notice a herring gull up on the cobbles apparently turning somersaults. This was weird. A herring gull was walking somewhat like it was drunk and couldn't keep its footing. When I was down on the sand that seem to walk better. I continue to watch it and wonder traveled back up onto the rocks, I was able to obtained some pictures of its unusual activity. The other interesting thing, was that you could approach to within a couple of feet of this herring gull, before it would walk away. I wonder if it ate something that affected it?
