Well wouldn't you know it, we finished the Texas workshop at 3 PM on Sunday and after the slideshow the Sun came out. Since a group of us were not leaving until the next day all later, we plan to go out to some of the sites that we had been that and do some more photography. My car mate and I ended up again at the Turnbull Birding Center in Port Aransas, Texas.

Blue-winged Teal - Male |
In terms of the number of ducks that were present today, there were not as many present as there were here on our trip. However, there was a good variety. And the photographing was enjoyable.

A Double-crested Cormorant put on a show for me as it was bathing. Green-wing Teal were flying in and resting on the wood piling along with the Cormorants.

A pair of Nutria came out of the marsh and started eating the tender shoots of the cattails.

Northern Paurula |
A number of different warblers arrived and they put on a show. There were many Black And White Warblers present, and at times they were even to close for me to photograph them with my 500 mm lens unless I moved backwards. In a small swampy area along the path, a Louisiana Water Thrush flitted back and forth. A Northern Paurula made its presence known.
Finally, there was a sunset.
A fitting end to an enjoyable weekend. I recommend the Gulf Coast of Texas has a place to visit, see and photograph not only birds, but other wildlife, and also to do landscapes.
