Butterflies Have Arrived

Most of my photography recently has been birds and some mammal photography.  On Thursday, while out photographing mainly the cattle egret that has been present at Daniel Webster Massachusetts Audubon Sanctuary in Marshfield, Massachusetts, on one of the trails there were many butterflies and they were feeding on what most people consider a weed the dandelion.- _DSC9491 April 19, 2012 NIKON D7000  Besides the cabbage white, clouded sulphur and a rare orange sulphur, who overwinter as larva and pupa, the early migrants have arrived, including American Lady and Red Admirals.  Since I did not have my macro lens with me, always photographs were taken with a 500 mm lens, plus a 1.7 tele-converter and my Nikon D 7000, which gave me an effective focal length of approximately 1000 mm.
