The Herring Run Again

The Dam on the Nemasket River
The yearly herring run still gives an opportunity for some interesting photographs.  The herring want to make their way upstream and gather at the foot of the dam, and some tried to jump up the high dam with the swiftly running water before they start to make their way up the fish ladder that is on the side of the dam to ease their trip up to the spawning grounds on Assawompset Pond.  The herring run on the Nemasket River, this year is greater than last year's and if you live in the southeastern Massachusetts area, you should take the time to view this most interesting event.
