The Colors of Juncos

    Dark-eyed Junco (Junco hyemalis)
As I photograph and watch the juncos that come to my feeder what is interesting is the variation in color from black to brown.  Also, is the hierarchy at the feeder where some of the darker black juncos are king of the roost and chase other juncos away.  After a while you can recognize specific birds.  So not only photographed birds, but watch and learn their behavior.  It is very useful.
