Lousy Morning, Great Photographs

Horizon in the rain, see the raindrops on the lens
You never know what a day will bring.  After I finish photographing the sunset last night, I decided I would return early in the morning to photograph the sunrise and the moon before it set.  I arose early, the sky looked cloudy, and the radar looked like there was some rain in the area.  I traveled back out to Gooseberry Neck, and when I arrived it was drizzling and the sky was dark, with a faint hint of light at the horizon.  I said to myself, maybe I should've stayed in bed.  However, I continue to watch the sky and as we got closer to sunrise, the sky by the rise and brightened up into beautiful shades of red and orange.  The sun arose, continuing the color until it went into the cloud bank and disappeared.  As you'll see from the following pictures, I did obtain some, what is to me, beautiful photographs.

I also photographed the blue clouds and sky that were in the Western sky over Rhode Island Sound.   _D8C2107_HDR September 04, 2012 NIKON D800So no matter what the forecast is, go out, enjoy the outdoors and you never know what you will see.
