New ebook on Attacting Bird for Photography

A brief blog today, as I am preparing to leave in the morning for Acadia National Park.  I had seen advance notice of a new E-book that was produced by a good friend of mine Alan Murphy and today it was released and I bought a copy.  This is a most excellent book, it is entitled "the Photographer's Guide to Attracting Birds" it is an excellent follow-up to his original E-book "Guide to Songbird Set-up Photography" which I have had and utilized.  I have been on a couple of workshops with Alan and he is an excellent teacher and is meant particular's and fixing up purchase and setups so that you can obtain the best photographs of birds.

In his latest book, he covers not only equipment, clothing and setups, but also gives detailed instruction on how to do it.

If you are into bird photography, I recommend this book, which is available for a cost of $50 or obtain both books at a cost of $90 and save $10..  They can be purchased at Alan's site http://www.alanmurphyphotography.com/ebook.htm or from Naturescapes ( click logo on Right) or from Birds Are Art

Day Four Roma Texas

On day four at Roma, the weather was sunny, however, it was very cold and everybody was bundled up. I wish I had brought my thermals with me, since later in the morning I was feeling chilled. However, we had an excellent morning of photography doing setups and flight photography. We had the usual birds and just before we finished up shooting in the morning, an Audubon's oriole showed its presence for about a minute and then immediately left. I was shooting in manual focus and was unable to move my lens to capture at least a picture. But, I saw it and can added to my life list.

After the morning shoot, we went back to the ranch to warm up, download pictures and learn new techniques in Photoshop. For lunch we had a great white bean chili that Chris made, it was very filling am warmed us up.
Later in the afternoon, we returned to the Hawk blind, where besides the Harris Hawks we had a surprise visitor of a loggerhead shrike that perform for us and gave us wonderful pictures. In all, this was a great workshop. And as I said originally, I would recommend to anybody that wants to learn Allen Murphy's techniques for obtaining bird pictures. His site is at http://www.alanmurphyphotography.com/.
