Eclipse No Lightning Yes

Full moon in the clouds
Again, this no on the lunar eclipse because of the weather and clouds.  We were arrived at Gooseberry Neck in Westport, Massachusetts in the sky was filled with broken clouds.  The almost full moon was visible with hidden by clouds and we were able to take some pictures of the moon until the cloud cover became heavy, and hid the moon.  Our hope was that the cloud cover would break on the horizon closer to moonset so we would be able to get some pictures of the eclipse.  However, that did not happen.

The clouds thickened and there was lightning in the distance, both over the Elizabeth Islands and down toward the Newport area.  This allowed us to capture some photos of lightning strikes in the distance.  As the dark clouds move toward us, and we started to get some rain, we quit and left for home.  The wind picked up and there was heavy rain.

In the next year, we still have two more chances or capturing a total lunar eclipse, so we can only hope for better the weather.
